Hakka's Cultural Exchange x Volunteering Program
Kerry Group Jigsaw volunteers partnered with Caritas’s Lung Yeuk Tau Community Development Project to send happiness to the elders in Lung Yeuk Tau during October and November. Volunteers helped conduct basic blood pressure assessments and played games with the elders. In the meantime, volunteers could learn more about the Hakka and Weitou culture and raise their conservation awareness through folk song appreciation, rice cake making and tours to the apiary, herbal field and heritage trail. We hope that the two-way volunteering activity could bring new perspectives to both our volunteers and the elders.
