Volunteering

Learning a foreign language can be difficult, especially for children of ethnic minorities who are learning Chinese in Hong Kong. Most of the time, their parents cannot teach them Chinese as they do not speak the language themsevles, making schools the only place for them to learn Chinese. However, face-to-face school teaching was suspended during the pandemic, making learning even harder. 

To help nurture the ethnic minority children's interest in Chinese and facilitate their learning, Jigsaw volunteers partnered with Rolling Books to organize weekly online meetings with the kids from November 2020 to February 2021 to teach them Chinese through storytelling and interactive activities.
