Volunteering
Kerry Group Jigsaw Volunteer team and the People Service Centre "Food Friend Action" collaborated to host three wet market study tours for colleagues and their children. Participants collected unsold and donated food from the wet market, which was then sorted and distributed to elderly in need within the community. This hands-on experience helped children understand environmental issues through discussions about the impact of food waste, while teaching them practical ways to promote sustainability. The event also highlighted the challenges faced by low-income households and the importance of community support, all while fostering a food-wise culture.
This initiative is supported by the Kerry Group and the “Environment and Conservation Fund” of the Environmental Protection Department, with the aim to ease the financial burden on low-income households and promote a food wise culture in the community.
