Volunteering
Long working hours and heavy physical works have put cleaners' health at risks. To promote health awareness among cleaners, Kerry Group Jigsaw volunteers have partnered with Caritas to set up pop-up health stations at public refuse collection points since June, to distribute nourishing drinks, provide health checks and invite cleaners to sign up for Caritas's Chinese medical treatments.
This is an initiative of 'Caritas Labour-Friendly Communities Project', supported by Kerry Group, to promote health, safety and dignity of cleaning workers. To encourage colleagues to care for the cleaners in the community, we have organised a series of 'Cheer for Cleaners' volunteering programmes, including outreach to cleaners through Cleaners Caring Call Volunteers Service.
