Raindrop Overseas Exchange Programme 2024-25

The Kerry Group sponsors colleagues' children between 15 - 18.5 years old to participate in a AFS one-year overseas exchange program, to promote the inter-cultural study and stimulate personal development. In 2024-2025, we have sponsored 4 colleagues' children to Belgium, Italy, Ireland and Japan. Find out more on their journey below!

"This year in Belgium pushed me far beyond my comfort zone. At first, everything felt unfamiliar—the culture, language, and making friends seemed impossible. But with my host family's support and classmates' encouragement, I gradually adapted. Their kindness gave me unforgettable experiences that taught me problem-solving, adaptability, and self-discovery. I'm grateful for every lesson learned and every person who helped me along the way. This experience changed me in ways I never expected."

Sharing from Angelina on her exchange in Italy
"My year in Italy was transformative. I enjoyed shared meals with my warm Italian host family and gained 7kg from my host mom’s delicious cooking! Exploring stunning cities and improving my Italian deepened my connection to the culture. Challenges along the way taught me resilience, while solo travel boosted my independence. More than just an adventure, this journey reshaped my perspective on community, adaptability, and joy. Italy will forever hold a special place in my heart as a chapter of growth and discovery."

Sharing from Brian on his exchange to Ireland
"My 10 months life abroad is completely different from Hong Kong, filled with unforgettable first times, such as seeing snow, learning photography, and even performing in a musical! I formed close friendships with people from around the world, sharing laughter, challenges, and growth. Though there were tough moments, the joy far outweighed them. None of this would have been possible without my parents, host family, AFS, and the incredible friends I made. This journey was more than just adventures. It shaped me, leaving me with priceless memories and a broader perspective on life."

Sharing from Giselle on her exchange to Japan
"These 10 months in Japan were life-changing. I never imagined forming friendships worldwide, yet this exchange made it possible. It was challenging, but I was never alone. My kind host family, AFS volunteers, classmates, and teachers all supported me. Despite our differences, we connected deeply. From Japanese-style photo booths and team cheers to scored karaoke nights, every moment became a treasured memory. This journey was exciting, meaningful, and transformative. Thank you to everyone who made it possible, for opening doors to growth and unforgettable connections I'll cherish forever."
