Kerry Engagement sponsors colleagues' children between 15 - 18.5 years old to participate in a AFS one-year overseas exchange program, to promote the inter-cultural study and stimulate personal development. In 2025 - 2026, we have sponsored 2 colleagues' children to Finland and Germany. Find out more on their journey below!

"A year in Finland taught me to enjoy and cherish small, most ordinary moments in life. Also, not to take anything for granted.  

One of the greatest challenges is fighting the winter blues, where sunlight in Finland is reduced to only 5 to 6 hours a day, and my body is constantly in low-energy mode. To overcome this, I began to crochet to gain my focus and energy.

The trip to Lapland is very unforgettable. I had the opportunity to witness the northern lights. I felt honoured to have the opportunity to meet friends from all around the world. It was fascinating to learn about different cultures and languages. 

Like Moomin said: 'You must go on a long journey before you can really find out how wonderful home is.' After a year of growth, home felt extra special."

"My exchange year in Germany was a journey full of challenges, growth, and unforgettable memories that changed me for the better. At first, school in a new language was difficult, but it pushed me to work harder and gave me confidence and independence. Over time, I learned to ask for help and trust myself more. The most rewarding part was realizing how much I had grown throughout the year."
