Kerry Engagement sponsors colleagues' children between 15 - 18.5 years old to participate in a AFS one-year overseas exchange program, to promote the inter-cultural study and stimulate personal development. In 2025-2026, we have sponsored 2 colleagues' children to Finland and Germany. Find out more on their journey below!

"I experienced all of Finland's seasons and every season brought its own special moments. Finland taught me to enjoy small changes in life and learned to cherish every moment, such as going to the supermarket with my family or spending time with friends, became meaningful to me. One of the greatest challenges is during November and December, daylight in Finland shrinks to just 5 to 6 hours a day. During that period, I often felt tired and low in energy because most of the day shrouded in darkness or deep twilight. To overcome this, I try to something new, and I began learning how to crochet during that time. The most memorable experience was the Lapland trip. This trip was extremely unforgettable, especially since I had the opportunity to witness the aurora borealis lighting up the arctic sky. I also felt honoured to have this great opportunity to meet friends from all around the world. The trip has been the only chance that gathered most exchange students from AFS of Finland, it was fascinating to learn about different cultures, languages. Therefore, I truly cherished every moment of the trip and created memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life."

"My exchange year in Germany was a journey full of challenges, growth, and unforgettable memories that changed me for the better. At first, school in a new language was difficult, but it pushed me to work harder and gave me confidence and independence. Over time, I learned to ask for help and trust myself more. The most rewarding part was realizing how much I had grown throughout the year."
